Redoing the interior

After having the cage installed, I wanted to fix up the interior a bit. Their were parts that had surface rust and I wanted to protect the body for the long term.

Here is what the interior looked like after removing the seats, removing the sound proofing, and using a rotary brush on the surface rust.

This is what it looked like after applying the aircraft stripper and removing the final bits of paint and adhesives

Then came the marine cleaner. Removes all the final little pieces of dirt from the surface and destroys all grease.

After the car was near spotless, it was time to start using the POR products. First came the metal prep. This etches the metal while destroying and sealing rust spots.

Then came the por-15 coating

Then the final step was to coat with the trunk liner spatter paint and several coats of clear.

This was the final product. I was very happy to have an interior mostly one color. I did have an application issue with the trunk paint due to the incredible slick and durable surface of the POR-15 product. I should of roughed up the surface before that step. I will have to get in there and redo that part when time allows.
